The Ice Bucket Challenge, raising money for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), has taken the internet by storm with people such as Bill Gates, George W. Bush and Mark Zuckerberg participating. Now it’s our turn! Our very own CEO, Javier Burón, was nominated by our friends at Link Humans and braved the freezing cold water for a good cause. Check out the video below!
Whilst Javier was busy drying off, he decided to nominate Alfredo Artiles (CTO of Audiense), Carlos Espinal (Partner at Seedcamp) and Kristo Kaarmann (CEO of TransferWise). You have 24 hours to complete the challenge!
People across the globe have been nominating friends, family and colleagues to throw an icy cold bucket of water over their heads in aid of the ALS Association. The ALS Association is a non-profit organization which raises money for research and patient services, promotes awareness of the disease and champions issues related to ALS in and out of government policy.
ALS is a neurodegenerative disease which causes muscle weakness and many other symptoms. At this moment in time, there is no cure, but thanks to the Ice Bucket Challenge, the ALS Association has received $41.8 million in donations in less than a month!
